Not Yet Full Sized Bass Players

MorettiDouble2.png

Four years ago John Wieland, Principal Bass with the Jacksonville Symphony, asked if I could get a small bass for his one year old son Jack who wanted to play bass like his dad. Indeed, the Moretti fractional sized basses go from 7/8 down to 1/32. They even have bows for 1/32 size basses. The bass is a carved, not laminated, and is tuned an octave higher than a regular bass and it’s smaller than a ½ size cello.
Jack has graduated to a 1/10 size bass that is a loaner and will be in the market for a ¼ size Moretti soon. Jack’s younger brother Hank will soon be playing the 1/32.

P.S. Lots of Jacks here - 3 Jacks - seller, buyer, son, and the Jacksonville Symphony!
